Mission Statement

Georgia Association of Literacy Advocates (GALA) connects Georgia’s languages and literacies across modalities to diverse classroom and community contexts through research, policy advocacy, and practice that center respectful, responsive, and ethical literacy education, affirming literacy as a basic human right in educational justice for all Georgia communities.

First Year Teacher - 1 YEAR Membership - $15.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) This membership level applies to all teachers who recently graduated and are currently in their first year of teaching at any Pk-12 school.

Former President of GALA Subscription period: Unlimited To select this level of membership, you MUST be a former president of GALA (or the Georgia Reading Association). Once you have registered as a member, your membership will be approved manually by the site administrator.

Group Bundle Membership #1 (Up to 5 Members – 1 Year) - $100.00 (USD) Bundle (up to 5 members) Subscription period: Unlimited Group Bundle Membership (Up to 5 Members) is for schools, organizations, or other groups who would like to register up to 15 people at a discounted rate.
(Regular Rate: 125; Group Bundle Rate: $100 - $25 Savings)

Group Bundle Membership #2 (Up to 10 Members - 1 Year) - $200.00 (USD) Bundle (up to 10 members) Subscription period: Unlimited Group Bundle Membership (Up to 10 Members) is for schools, organizations, or other groups who would like to register up to 10 people at a discounted rate.
(Regular Rate: $250; Group Bundle Rate: $200 - $50 Savings)

Group Bundle Membership #3 (Up to 15 Members – 1 Year) - $300.00 (USD) Bundle (up to 15 members) Subscription period: Unlimited Group Bundle Membership (Up to 15 Members) is for schools, organizations, or other groups who would like to register up to 15 people at a discounted rate.
(Regular Rate: $375; Group Bundle Rate: $300 - $75 Savings)

Retired Educator - 1 YEAR Membership - $15.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) Open to all retired educators.

Student Membership - 1 YEAR Membership - $15.00 (USD) Subscription period: Unlimited This membership level applies to all students attending any institution of higher education (college or university).
