Meeting Schedule for 2026-2027

Leadership Team Meetings (monthly)
    • Open to board members & committee chairs
    • Any member can request to join these meetings by emailing the GALA Chair at chair@galiteracy.org
    • Meeting day and time: 3rd or 4th Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
General Membership Meetings (biannually)
    • Open to ALL GALA members! 
    • Committee Chairs will share highlights of their recent accomplishments and discuss current needs. 
    • An open forum will follow, giving general members the opportunity to ask questions, offer feedback, and suggest ideas for continued collaboration.
    • Meeting time: Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Georgia Association of Literacy Advocates (GALA) connects Georgia’s languages and literacies across modalities to diverse classroom and community contexts through research, policy advocacy, and practice that center respectful, responsive, and ethical literacy education, affirming literacy as a basic human right in educational justice for all Georgia communities.

The mission of the Georgia Association of Literacy Advocates (GALA) is to promote literacy and equity in Georgia by providing resources and empowering advocates to improve access to reading and writing for all.
